Saw so many new sights of the island that we otherwise wouldn’t have seen . Very informative guide and thank goodness, a Terrific driver as the road to Masca was not just breathtaking but quite the experience . Narrow winding road’s barely wide enough for 2 cars . Truely well worth the money !

A brilliant day out away from the beach!

Rita_T,

Jan 2023

If you’re considering visiting Mt Teide and seeing the real Tenerife away from the hotel zones- don’t hire a car - book this tour. It’s a full day visiting Mt Teide and the core and north of the island with a brilliant driver and a knowledgeable guide and more importantly- without the stress of driving a car you’re unfamiliar with along very narrow switchback mountain roads. Our driver was unbelievably impressive handling the difficult roads and varied range of driving conditions as we travelled from warm sunshine to snowy roads and at times, heavy rain. A big shout out also to our guide who organised the entire day with friendly efficiency despite being woken at 3am and asked to travel 80 kilometres at short notice to cover for a colleague who had been taken Ill. If you’re wondering what to wear for this tour - the answer is ‘lots of layers ‘ and a waterproof jacket as you’ll go through all four seasons in 9 hours!!It’s a great way to see the island and I thoroughly recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Jan 2023

Many thanks for a lovely review. We like your explanation of the 4 seasons in 9 hours. During winter months this is true. You depart from 20-30 degrees and later can be greeted with Snow on some occasions.

A wonderful day out

Fantastic scenery, and we visited wonderful places.Marion was one of the best reps we've ever been guided by, a sheer delight, and very knowledgeable. Also Julio was not only a brilliant driver, he was also an extremely nice person. Polite and friendly. I cannot compliment the day out enough.

Fantastic Trip! Saw so much of Tenerife. Guide and driver were lovely. Enough time at all the stops. Restaurant for lunch starter not great but for 16€ for starter, main, desert and drinks you can’t complain. Would highly reccomend for anyone!

Tenerife Gems !

Mina_M,

Jan 2023

This is a really great tour to go if you want to see a bit of everything. Although we did feel that you're not given enough time to actually see most of the sites. At Mount Tiede you only get about 20 mins and there is so much exploring to do but its impossible to see it all. We had 1 full hour in Icod where the famous dragon tree is but in all honesty we would have much preferred 1 full hour in the Masca Valley/Village. We were only given about 10/15 mins there and it definitely is not enough time to take in the real beauty of the place. I would advise you re think the timings in each place. Overall its good but you just need to give people more time to explore these beautiful places !

Richard_G,

Jan 2023

We thought this trip was exceptional value and would highly recommend it for those staying in Puerto de la Cruz but from Santa Cruz it was rather a long day, with a 6.45am start and the first and last hour of the day spent picking up and dropping off other guests. The multi lingual guide and the driver were both excellent and overall we enjoyed the experience. Ultimately we were very pleased that we booked this tour as we were only in Tenerife for a few days and this trip gave us the opportunity to see so much more of the island than we would have otherwise.

Response from Host, Jan 2023

Many thanks for a lovely review. Santa Cruz is in an area that is between the North and the South making the pick up time early. We are happy that you enjoyed your day.

Fun & interesting day experiencing the island of Tenerife.

Linda_G,

Jan 2023

Our Guide, Peter from Atlantic travel, was a very informative, interesting and experienced guide. The variety of experiences during the day was impressive: volcano landscapes, traditional Tenerifian villages, stunning remote mountain scenery & village. We learned such a lot about the island’s natural & modern history. Lunch was amazing good value for money. Definitely recommend that you leave your holiday resort & go & see the real Tenerife!

We had a great experience, with a family group of different ages and different physical fitness. Also, it was great to have an experienced local driver drive us on the tricky (but very picturesque) mountain roads. The scenery was beautiful, lunch was yummy and our guide was very informative. Highly recommended!

Excellent trip, good info from guide. Several stops, so no long times sitting on coach. Only thing I would change would be that on the few occasions when guide wasn’t speaking, he put loud music on, never for long, but silence would have been preferable!

A full day traveling in a clockwise loop from Puerto de la Cruz.Great guide who explained everything in Spanish/English/German seemlessly Wrap up warm as gets cold towards summit including woolly hat !Not for the faint hearted ( or weak stomachs) the return leg as extremely winding with lotsa shouting to get cars to move overRecommend the optional lunch in Garachico soup , chicken and a choc ice !

Nice for a bus tour, but different guide and driver NEEDED

holly_m,

Dec 2022

It was our first full day on Tenerife and we were excited and giggly with anticipation. As we were sitting in the hotel lobby waiting for our pickup, an unexcitable woman comes in, upset that we weren't waiting outside. She said "the bus can't pick you up here". We laughed, thinking she was joking -obviously a bus can't come inside. But she was not joking. She did not crack a smile. We followed her to the bus and were told to put a mask on, which we knew about so we had them ready and prepared. My husband pulled out a neck gator and asked if it was okay. She unhappily barked back "NO that is NOT a mask". It started our day off with a bad taste in our mouth within the first 1 minute of our day. She also made comments that were borderline rude - I have a feeling she's had bad experiences with American tourists in the past and put us in her stereotypical American Tourist category. The driver of the bus (while talented at maneuvering the twists and turns of the Masca area) was equally as unhappy. I understand, it's the end of tourist season and they're probably sick of tourists. And everyone is entitled to a bad day. But there aren't any "bad days" when you're a tour guide. It's part of your job description, to be happy or fake being happy. If they can't, then I recommend they find a new form of income. The guide and the driver seemed to be feeding off each other's negative energy. Because of this, I would NOT recommend this tour.

Response from Host, Dec 2022

We are sorry to hear you had a bad day but thank you for taking the time to comment. But yes waiting in your hotel for a trip is not good, when the crew have many people to pick up. Instructions are giving to wait either outside your hotel or at a meeting point. It is not fair for those waiting in the correct place to have to wait for people who dont follow directions. Facemasks here is still the law for on a bus. We have to follow rules. Sorry to be harsh here We love all tourists here. If it wasnt for you we would not have trips or a great holiday destination. We sincerely hope you enjoy the rest of your holiday here and thank you again for taking the time to comment.

Superb

Teide the main dish but too short (one stop)

Harry_H,

Dec 2022

Nice: The main stop in Teide National park, the old tree at Icod and Masca. Not nice: the driver was competent but immitated a screaming cat in hairpin road curves, the guide was 80% Spanish and 20% in Enlish and lacked overview of the trip (too much details or repeating).

Response from Host, Dec 2022

We always stop at the Roque de Garcia too 20 minutes more or less. this is an amazing place with great views in the national park. Also driving past the Chiñero lava flows. We do try to fit in as much as we can. We are sorry to hear that a cat personator was driving the bus.

Great views

Pivi_R,

Dec 2022

Great views. Quite a scary road up to Masca but our driver was calm and carefull. The guide was very informative and spoke English and German languages fluently.
